8 Early Signs of Pregnancy

Could you be pregnant? If you’re feeling anxious and need some information before you even miss your period, there are early signs of pregnancy to be on the lookout for. Some early signs of pregnancy may show up around the time you’ve missed a period—about a week or two later.

Read on for 8 early signs of pregnancy to get a better idea of whether or not you may be expecting!

Tender or Swollen Breasts

One of the first early signs of pregnancy is tender or swollen breasts. They may feel heavier and fuller. Early in pregnancy, your breasts will fill out and change shape as they prepare to produce milk which makes them very sensitive as a result.

Fatigue

It takes a lot of energy to create a baby, so many women feel extremely tired early in pregnancy. All the extra progesterone your body’s producing will definitely make you feel wiped out.

Sensitivity to Smell

One of the early signs of pregnancy is a heightened sense of smell.

Nausea

Nausea is a very common side effect of pregnancy caused by an increase in hormone levels. Unfortunately for some women, this nausea is not only confined to the morning and lasts all day long. Try to eat foods that will settle your stomach like crackers, or drink some ginger ale.

Mood Swings

Feeling moody? If you’re feeling a little hormonal, it may be because your body is adjusting to all those new hormones. It’s natural to go through a variety of emotions as your body changes.  Be assured that the emotional roller coaster will pass.

Dizziness or Feeling Faint

Your hormones are changing and your heart will beat faster to pump more blood through the body early in your pregnancy.  As a result, you may experience periods of dizziness or feeling lightheaded.

Headaches

More early signs of pregnancy may include an aching head. Frequent headaches are a result of changes in hormones.

Vivid Dreams

Your dreams will often become more vivid when you’re pregnant. If your dreams seem more intense lately, it could be an early sign of pregnancy!
